About

This is where the Santorini story began. Nitsa, the mother of the family, opened Warung Souvlaki.gr on Poppies Lane 1 in 2011, and the place took the Santorini name in 2018. The blue-and-white taverna styling, family recipes and singalong atmosphere have since been rolled out across Bali and beyond, but Kuta is still the flagship.

The grill section carries the menu. Order souvlaki plates of chicken, pork or minced kebab with fries, pita and tzatziki, a gyros plate, or the mix grill for two. Moussaka comes with a Greek salad, and the mixed dip plate brings tzatziki, hummus, eggplant and skordalia. Daily specials include Monday pita souvlaki deals and an eight-hour slow-cooked lamb at weekends.

A good fit for families, groups and anyone wanting a filling, inexpensive meal near Kuta beach. It opens daily from 10am to 11:30pm and takes bookings by WhatsApp. Sister restaurants are in Seminyak (Jalan Arjuna, Double Six), Canggu (Jalan Batu Mejan) and Sanur (Jalan Danau Tamblingan), plus a beachfront resort on Gili Air, Lombok.
