Greek Eat Where

Singapore

Singapore has more good Greek restaurants than anywhere else in the region, spread from the shophouses of Tanjong Pagar to Dempsey Hill and the waterfront at Sentosa Cove. Most are relaxed tavernas built for sharing, and a few aim higher.

Bakalaki on Martin Road is the long-running favourite for grilled octopus and lamb chops, with a Greek deli attached. Fotia on Duxton Hill and Zorba at Clarke Quay are good for groups, Blu Kouzina has been on Dempsey for years, and Mykonos On The Bay faces the marina at Quayside Isle. For something more polished there is Alati on Amoy Street, known for salt-baked fish, Anemelo at Maxwell Chambers, Skopelos at CHIJMES and Estiatorio Milos at Marina Bay Sands, where the fish is flown in and sold by weight. Éla on Jalan Sultan is a halal-friendly souvlaki spot.

Book ahead on Friday and Saturday nights, especially at Bakalaki and Fotia. Set lunches are the cheapest way to try the upscale places.
