Greek food has found a home well beyond the Aegean. Singapore has the deepest scene in the region, from Bakalaki on Martin Road to Estiatorio Milos at Marina Bay Sands, and Bali has a run of souvlaki grills and tavernas from Kuta and Seminyak to Uluwatu and Ubud. Bangkok, Phuket, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Lombok add smaller scenes of their own.
Most places here are tavernas: dips and pita, grilled octopus, lamb chops, moussaka and a Greek salad heavy on feta. A few go further, such as AVLI in Uluwatu, Alati on Amoy Street and Aesop's in Bangkok, while grills like Nostimo, Milos Warung Souvlaki and Éla keep things quick and casual.
