El Greco began in 2012 as a small family restaurant on Koh Chang, started by Kostas from the island of Rhodes and his Thai wife. The Phuket branch in Rawai followed in 2022, a short drive from Nai Harn Beach, with a Greek-style dining room, an open-air terrace and live music in the evenings. The family imports key ingredients such as cheese and olive oil from Greece.
The menu sticks to taverna classics. Gyros plates come with chicken or pork, souvlaki kalamaki is served on skewers, and the lamb kleftiko is slow-cooked until it falls from the bone. Moussaka, grilled octopus, saganaki flamed at the table and a proper Greek salad with a slab of feta round out the list, along with mezze plates and homemade meatballs.
It suits groups and couples who want a lively dinner in the south of the island, and portions are generous for the price. Bookings are taken by phone or through the website form. The brand also runs El Greco Kata Beach on Soi Pakbang in Karon, plus the original restaurant on Koh Chang.
